Fair Claims Recertification in March The focus of the MVCA continues to be on education. At the March 2009 luncheon, we will have our Certification as required by the DOI. This is an important event for many of us and open to all dues paying members. We urge you to make plans early to be there as we want to work with Papapavlos so that they can configure the meeting room and handle the luncheon efficiently. Turn on any TV and the commentators are pontificating how tough things are in the business and investment world. I agree that 2009 has it’s share of challenges. At the same time, there is opportunity for those of us who handle claims or our businesses are associated with the insurance industry. Innovation and creativity, while not uniquely American concepts, have always been part of who we are as a nation. I have always said that although we cannot control events in the world as they happen around us, we can and should be prepared to deal with them and find positive energy where others find negativity. Claims are not necessarily dependent directly on the economy. There are so many other variables such as weather and the needs of our customers to have the claims handled professionally no matter what the economic conditions. We hope that by participating in the MVCA, you will learn at our luncheons, have a bit of fun at our activities and stay connected to the pulse of the industry. Personally, each time we have a qualified professional make a presentation at our luncheons, I learn something. Seek out ideas and look for ways to bring out that creativity.
