Wayne Henry, president of Jack Frost Ice Service, provided an interesting look at the development of the ice service industry at the February 18, 2005 MVCA luncheon gathering.

From early roots of hard labor ice-houses, the industry has evolved. With the advent of electric refrigeration, a drastic shift was seen even as late as the 1960s.

Mr. Henry included a brief video documentary film from the 1940s on how ice-plants cultivated 300 pound blocks. His own company has grown since his purchase of a small firm in 1978, to its current status of five facilities throughout the valley.

The Mid-Valley Claims Association would like to thank Wayne Henry for sharing his knowledge and his story.

February guest speaker, Wayne Henry, built his ice service from a small company in 1978 to a five warehouse mid-valley mainstay for the 21st century.

MVCA Vice President, Magda Michel, got help greeting folks as they arrived from Rosemary Perez-Cardenos, of Great Valley Adjusters.
