Ulises Castellon, of Fire Cause Analysis, addressed the September 19, 2008 MVCA luncheon gathering. A good-sized crowd turned out for the September 19, 2008 MVCA luncheon meeting to hear Ulises Castellon, of Fire Cause Analysis.

Past MVCA President Sherry Wenograd, of Frontier Adjusters, played “Lucinda”, the main culprit in the scandal-laden “Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n Roll” scenario presented by Ulises Castellon at the September 19, 2008 MVCA luncheon meeting.

Frankie Botelho, of Mastermind Alliance, played “Eric”, the husband - not an altogether innocent character.

Jennifer Diaz, of Marine Claims Services, Inc., played the part of the suspect girlfriend.

Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n Roll Played Out

Another good-sized crowd turned out for the September 19, 2008 Mid-Valley Claims Association luncheon meeting at Papapavlo’s in Stockton. The group of members and guests were treated to more than the standard presentation with the return of popular speaker Ulises Castellon, CPCU, RPA, of Fire Cause Analysis. Mr. Castellon created a bit of a dramatic production, using the real-life story of an extreme arson case his firm helped decipher a few years ago.

A former SIU Manger for State Farm Insurance, Mr. Castellon knows what a suspicious claim looks like. For this presentation, he enlisted the talents of several folks from the crowd, reading parts for the various players in the crime.

MVCA Past President, Sherry Wenograd, a former drama teacher (rumor has it) played the lead role of “Lucinda”, aka “Cindy”, with Frankie Botelho, of Mastermind Alliance, as her husband, “Eric”, and MVCA member Jennifer Diaz, of Marine Claims Services, playing the role of Eric’s mistress. The trio took turns reading their respective pertinent bios relative to the case, before Ulises led the crowd through the scenario of an arson case gone horribly wrong. In laying out the many facts of the case, he demonstrated how professionals can effectively unravel even the most twisted of stories to determine the validity of a fire damage claim.

Though the guilty parties were ultimately never prosecuted, the carrier was off the hook from having to pay the claim, despite a whole lot of shenanigans by the claimants.

In the end, the crowd had a great time with the story line, and Ulises took what was already a fascinating tale and made it come alive.

The September MVCA luncheon meeting was a fun time for all. The tone set by the interactive, dramatic, presentation extended to the door prize drawings, and general atmosphere.
